Procurement and Contract Administration

RSV Australia’s procurement function is organised around the peculiar demands of project management. The Procurement Management strategy, organisation and decision making are integrally linked to the project management dynamic. The basic elements of procurement are the same for large stable corporate operations as for the volatile project environment. The difference lies in the level of interaction between the specifier, the client and the construction site. To this end RSV Australia has assembled a group of experienced mining project procurement officers who well understand the peculiarities and the specific demands of the industry.

RSV Australia’s Procurement Management Plan describes the contract types and the procurement and packaging strategy for the project; this plan includes the processes required to acquire goods and services to attain project scope. These processes include, but are not limited to:

The procurement planning which determines what is to be procured, under what circumstances and when the procurement needs to take place; the solicitation for obtaining quotations, bids, offers, or proposals, as appropriate; the source selection which deals with choosing from among potential sellers or contractors; the contract administration which deals with managing the relationship with the seller or contractor; the contract closeout which addresses the contract closeout at completion and the settlement of the contract, including resolution of any open items.

The contractual integrity of contracts for supply of material, plant and services is ensured by a Legal Advisor. The relationships between the Client, Project Manager, Consultant and Contractor are preferably regulated by well proven international forms of contract. RSV Australia strongly advocates a contractual dispensation based on the contractual documents.
